A 30-year-old man died of overdose of a medicine injecting to relief from pain at Retghat under Talaiya police on Wednesday; reason of death could be revealed after receiving post mortem report said Talaiya police.
The deceased identified as Ravi Shrivas was declared dead after he was rushed to JP hospital late in the afternoon on Wednesday.
Investigating Officer ASI Mohan Kaushal said that the deceased used to work as ward boy at JP hospital due to which his family members took him to JP hospital.
In the afternoon when he reported uneasiness to his brother-in-law Udham in Chola Mandir he immediately informed Ravi’s cousin Amit Shrivas who rushed to his help and found that Ravi was lying in an unconscious state and found an injection near Ravi and took him to JP hospital and provided the injection to the hospital. It was found that the overdose of the injection caused his death, he added.
ASI Kaushal said that it is under investigation that the injection used by the deceased was for pain killer or something else. The investigation has been started. Ravi’s wife and children were at her parents’ home in Karond. The incident took place after the deceased returned from the hospital in the afternoon but failed to get help on time.
After the preliminary investigation body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC. The further investigation has been started. The statements of the family members are yet to be recorded.
