One held for illegally transporting and selling liquor

Aishbagh police have nabbed a miscreant involved in illegally transporting and selling liquor at Moti Nagar slums and seized 318 bottles of country-made liquor worth Rs  16,000 from his possession on Thursday.

According to the police, acting on a tip off regarding a man at near Moti Nagar slums was nabbed and recovered bottles of country made liquor from his possession.

The accused identified as Shahrukh Kharra was nabbed by police and recovered 318 bottles of with country made liquor.

The nabbed accused was questioned regarding the liquor but was not able to provide documents related to the liquor. The police have registered a case under section 34 (2) of the Excise Act. The crime record of the accused and his involvement in illegal transport of liquor would be investigated.

Meanwhile, Nishatpura police nabbed a miscreant and recovered a country-made pistol and two live cartridges from his possession late in the evening on Wednesday.

According to the police acting on a tip off a man was nabbed near Hari Mazar and when he was searched a country made pistol and cartridges were recovered from his possession.

The miscreant was not able to provide any details of keeping the country made pistol legally and was charged of keeping arm illegally. The accused was identified as Rohit Kuchbandiya of Housing Board Colony.

After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act and have started investigation. The reason of carrying weapon and source from which the accused has procured the country made pistol and cartridges are yet to be identified, said police.
