One minor girl feared killed and two were injured in an abandoned CCL mine collapse in Giridih this morning,
The injured girls have been rescued and a girl has been dug out.
The incident took place at a mine, abandoned by CCL years ago, at Pesrabehiyar, around 5km from Giridih district headquarters.
Sources said a portion of the roof of the mine caved in early in the morning, burying at least one minor girl identified as Reshma Praveen while two girls namely Rozi Praveen and Rosani Praveen.
The administration and CCL officials rushed to the spot hours later local claimed that one minor girl Reshma Praveen, a resident Peshravehiyar village, was trapped inside along with others.
The rescuers, who began operations around 11am, soon dug out debris to find Rosani and Rozi, who were rushed to local Hospital in Giridih with severe injuries. They also found the body of Reshma Praveen (12).
According to sources all five minior girls had gone for collecting coal dust from abandoned mine near Peshravehiyar.
They were busy digging coal when suddenly the roof collapsed. All five came under a big rock and survived,"local told the police.
Sources claimed a large number of people from a dozen nearby villagers around Peshravehiyar visited the mine regularly to collect coal.
