Objectionable deeds not new in film industry: Sharon Prabhakar

Wednesday, 31 October 2018 | PNS | Nainital

Noted pop singer and public speaker Sharon Prabhakar said that the alleged misbehaviour exposed by the #metoo movement has been going on in the film industry for quite some time. However, some courageous women have exposed this, she said while talking to media persons here on Tuesday.

She opined that the glitz of money has now become the foremost feature of Bollywood. She said that she too was asked many times about why she did not make a foray into the world of movies but she aimed for a life with comparatively less money and less work. “I did not want to go into that world of dazzle and today I feel I made the right decision,” she said.

She further said that academic atmosphere is developing in schools in colleges but the students should also be involved in other activities. Youngsters need to move ahead in all the fields. The youngsters today have the enthusiasm to achieve their dreams so all should come forward to help them progress. Prabhakar also appreciated the works done by the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She further recalled that she had also studied in Nainital, opining that effort should be undertaken to boost cultural activities in this city. In the past she has performed in Russia, Hong Kong, Singapore and various other countries.
