The Oakwood School celebrated its annual function here on Tuesday with pop singer and public speaker Sharon Prabhakar as the chief guest. She exhorted the students to participate in academic and extra-curricular activities with enthusiasm. She also sang one of her hit songs on the occasion which was received enthusiastically by the students and their parents.
The students presented an English play, group and solo dances, Yoga presentation, skating and other performances on the occasion. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the school director Geetanjali Anand informed about the activities and progress in the school.
She said that in addition to focusing on studies, the school also encourages its students to participate in other activities in its attempt to develop varied talents. The various programmes presented by the students in the annual function exhibited their talent. Such programmes also help boost the self confidence of the children, she added.
The school principal Lata Sah, vice principal Asha Sharma, manager Santosh Kumar, All Saints’ College principal Kiran Jeremiah along with the principals of various schools and parents of the students were among those present on the occasion.
