NTPC ltd on Wednesday handed over dustbins to further maintain cleanliness on platforms at Korba railway station while a team of NTPC employees undertook cleanliness drive as part of 'Swachhata Pakhwada' which is under way across NTPC stations, projects and offices since May 16, a company press release informed.
Several programmes have been launched by NTPC Korba station as part of the Pakhwada including Swachhata pledge, cleanliness drive at plant, township and in the vicinity of the station, Swachhata-based competition among children to sensitize the younger lot.
Besides the station has produced a cartoon-based booklet on swachhata for schoolchildren which was launched by Niraj Kumar Sinha, Executive Director, NTPC Korba here on May 27, 2018 to commemorate 'Swachhata Pakhwada'.
In addition to this, the NTPC station is all set to reach out to the children in rural schools in a big way by distributing Swachhata kit among the children and the identified Anganwadi kendras in the last leg of the Pakhwada. Over a thousand beneficiaries have been identified for this programme.
