The Nilamber Pitamber University here has allowed its students seeking admission in UG and PG courses to go the traditional way that is fill admission form and submit it at the counter. No online business right now.  This has been done for the convenience of students.

Stating this VC NPU S N Singh and Pro VC P K Poddar said that once the admission process is over our colleges will load it on chancellor’s portal which as of now has been put on hold keeping in view the hardships of the students in applying for admission.  Singh said, “This is no deviation at all. It is for convenience and also to start the academic session without being any late”

The VC said our newly started Manika Degree college in tribal heartland of latehar district in its inaugural session 2018 – 21 has got admission of 500 students which is by no means any little stride in the field of higher education at place like Manika.

He sounded tough when a scribe pointed out to him that seat limitation in subjects in the GlA college has created a kind of chaos, confusion and uncertainty among the students still out of admission said, “The university has identified a couple of teachers of this college who are throwing spanner in the admission process and are creating unwarranted confusion and chaos among the students.  All eligible students desirous to study in this college have a right to be here.  The very purpose of this university will be defeated if colleges under it slam the door of admission on them”.

“If such teachers do not mend their ways then the university will have no option but to send their names with reports against them to Chancellor straight way,” he added.

The Raj Bhavan has allowed this university to hold its convocation in first week of October. Further, the VC said as per the directive of Raj Bhavan there will be no gown this convocation but pure Indian costume this time and onwards.

On what will be the ‘Bhartiya Paridhan’ VC Singh and Pro VC P K Poddar said in unison it will be decided by the committee formed here. The two further said Kurta Pajama for boys and Salwar Suit for girls look most handy but hastened to add let our committee take a final call on this.

About 1,000 students have applied for conferment of degree in this convocation the first ever of this university.

VC said the university has suggested four names for chief guest on this occasion and letter to this effect has been sent to Raj Bhavan.

The four names are Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu, lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Union HRD Minister Prakash Jawedkar and Union Science & Technology minister Dr Harshvardhan.

Sources said the Raj Bhavan is choose any one of these 4 and then a request letter for consent is sent to the eminent person
