Rourkela youth Muktikanta Biswal, who made headlines by walking around 1,550 km to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has embarked on another padayatra from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar to meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to pitch for various demands.
Speaking to reporters, Muktikanta said he would meet the CM and demand upgradation of the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) into a super specialty facility and steps for construction of the proposed second bridge over river Brahmani in Rourkela.
“I will meet the CM and some other BJD leaders to raise various demands, including super specialty hospital status to IGH. I will also discuss about pending projects in Rourkela,” he said.
Muktikanta had walked for over 70 days and reached Delhi on June 27 to remind the Prime Minister of his promises made on April 1, 2015 for fulfilment of the above two demands.
He had also staged a hunger strike at the Ramlila Maidan and later at Jagannath Temple, Hauz Khas in the national capital after he failed to meet the PM despite repeated attempts.
