Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a new chapter is commencing today after brainstorming on Gurukul education system. He said that Adiguru Shankaracharya has said that education is that which helps attain salvation.
Swami Vivekanand said that education makes a man a human being. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making efforts to change the direction of education. Vasudeva Kutumbakam, Satyamev Jayate, Jiyo aur jeene do, Praniyon se prem ho, Vishwa ka Kalyan ho, this is Bharatiya Darshan. Only Bharatiya Darshan will take humanity burning in the fire of intellectualism to the path of peace.
Chouhan was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the three-day International Virat Gurukul Sammelan at Ujjain’s Sandipani Vedvidya Pratishthan today.
The Chief Minister said that the state government will make efforts to implement the conclusion of the sammelan. He said that the Gurukul will be started in Janapav Indore. The state’s gurukuls will be marked. Gurukul Shikshan Sanstha will be established with the support of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal.
Union Minister for Human Resources, Prakash Javadekar said that efforts are being made to make education more meaningful. Efforts will be made to coordinate between gurukuls and modern education. Gurukul education system will be given proper position. He said that the practice of Guru-Shishya tradition has always been in our music and craftsmanship. The law which has been enacted in the Right to Education Act, is based on this input, it should be changed.
He said that we have decided that Value Education and Physical Education get a place in the education policy. In order to change the education policy, 34,000 people have given their suggestions on the website.
Minister of State for Human Resource Development Satyapal Singh said that there should be brainstorming on what the purpose of education is and whether the current education system can develop all-round development.
