MP awarded for development

The Minister for Urban Development and Housing Maya Singh handed over National Awards to the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday.

It is to be highlighted that these awards have been conferred upon Madhya Pradesh by the Government of India for innovations in the Urban Development in Madhya Pradesh at the National Urban Development Workshop held at lucknow on July 27-28. The Mayor Alok Sharma, Chief Secretary BP Singh, Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Vivek Agrawal, Municipal Commissioner of Bhopal Avnish lavaniya and Chief Executive Officer of Smart City Sanjay Kumar were also present on this occasion.

It may be mentioned that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has honoured Mayor of Bhopal Alok Sharma for Integrated Command Control Center of Bhopal Smart City Project and Mayor of Indore Malini laxman Gour for issuing bonds under the Amrut Yojana with the National Awards on July 28.

Earlier, the Union Minister of State for Urban Development and Urban Poverty Alleviation (Independent Charge) Hardeep Singh Puri had honoured Madhya Pradesh with 4 National Awards for innovations in Urban Development field. These awards were bestowed for Public Bike Sharing and B-Nest Incubation Center under the Smart City Project Bhopal, Smart Class Room of NDMC and Waste to Energy Plant of Jabalpur Smart City Project.
