A few places over north coastal Odisha and some isolated places over rest of the State would experience thundershower with light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours, said the Regional Office of the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) here on Tuesday.
“The cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood now lies over west central and adjoining areas of northwest Bay of Bengal and North Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level and the trough in easterlies now seen as trough of low at mean sea level from Southwest Bay of Bengal to north Bay of Bengal and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level,” said Regional Director HR Biswas. Under the influence of the steep pressure gradient, strong surface wind is likely over deep sea areas. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the deep sea of north and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours, the IMD said.
