Miscreants set 3 trucks on fire

Monday, 31 December 2018 | PNS | Ranchi

Unidentified miscreants set ablaze three empty trucks in Tisia village under Kisko police station area on Saturday night. The miscreants also fired in air before fleeing away from the spot.

Police said three criminals entered the village at around 1 AM and set the vehicles on fire using clothes. Later villagers came out of their homes hearing about the fire and doused the flames.

The cabin of the vehicles was however burnt. The miscreants had also tried to set ablaze another truck on the spot but the vehicle was saved.

Police have recovered three empty cartridges from the spot even though people said they heard sounds of five shots.

Lohardaga SP Priyadharshi Alok stated that police were investigating the case adding people behind the act would be identified soon.

“Prima facie it does not seem to be an act of extremists.  The arson may be due to fight for dominance in the area,” he said. He added the vehicle owners have denied getting any threats before the incident.
