The Khadial Mukta Vichar Manch organised a seminar on ‘Central Budget 2017-18’ at Khariar here recently in which Khariar Autonomous College Economics lecturer Prof Harendra Panda lamented on the low allocation of funds for the education sector.
Titilagarh Charted Accountant Vikash Agrawal said a tax compliance society would lead to ease of business and ease of living. He also presented an analytical presentation of Indian tax system.
Manch convenor Shrikant Chatterjee said the Constitution of India does not talk about the word budget; rather it is called the annual financial statement placed in the lower House of the Parliament.
But it has never been seen that an elected representatives is neither consulting people about the Budget nor the people impressing upon the representative to include certain things in the budget, he added.
About a hundred persons including retired Government officials and others attended the seminar.
