Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati claimed to have vacated her official bungalow (No. 6, lal Bhadhur Shastri Marg) on Wednesday.
In an official communiqué of the Party released here on Wednesday evening, Mayawati claimed to have informed the Estate Department about vacating the bungalow which has been allotted in her name as ex-chief minister of the state.
She claimed that the cops of vacating the bungalow has been sent first by hand on Tuesday but as the officers in the Estate Department refused to collect it so on Wednesday, she sent the letter as well keys of the bungalow through speed post.
It may be mentioned that earlier the BSP gave a new twist to the ex-chief minister government accommodation episode in the State claiming that the bungalow 13-A, Mall Avenue is not allotted to Mayawati, but it holds `Kanshiram Yaadgar Vishramalaya’. In a letter handed over to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on last Friday, Mayawati said there is confusion on the notice issued by the Estate Department as she was allotted 6, Shastri Marg bungalow as ex-CM but there was no mention about it.
She mentioned that the bungalow was already allotted to hold Kanshiram Yaadgar Vishramalaya during her government time. BSP General Secretary Satish Chandra Mishra and leader of the House, lalji Verma, who met the Chief Minister to hand over Party’s supremo letter, apprised chief minister about the position regarding the government bungalow. The delegation said Mayawati occupied only two rooms in that bungalow. The BSP had also installed a board just on May 21 last at the said government bungalow, terming it 'Shri Kanshi Ram Ji Yadgar Vishram Sthal' only after Mayawati was served notice to vacate it as per a Supreme Court order.
