Maths Summer Camp for meritorious students

Maths Summer Camp formeritorious maths students of the Government schools is going on in the Regional Science Center located at Shyamla Hills at Bhopal. This camp will continue till May 1. One meritorious from each district is taking part in the Summer Camp. These include those students who have secured top positions in the Junior Maths Olympiad.

Notably, the Junior Maths Olympiad was organized in the year 2017-18 with an objective to generate interest for maths among the students of the government schools. State Education Center of the School Education Department has organized Maths Summer Camp “Khushi Jodo-Tanao Ghatao” with the cooperation of the Regional Science Center, Bhopal to strengthen this objective.

Students came from different areas of the state are learning new experiments of maths everyday during the 5 day summer camp and are increasing their competency in maths with enjoyment. The structure of word maths has been prepared with the mathematical signs is the specialty of the camp to make children thoughtful about the math subject besides making them friend with the mathematical signs.

The students came from different parts of the state are getting acquainted with each other and are sharing their experiences with each other. Shrutika, the students of class -7 of Kirnapur Government Middle School of Balaghat district said that she has come first time to Bhopal. Besides taking part in the camp, she has also seen the Shaurya Smarak and Jan-Jatiya Sanghralaya. She further said that she has experienced first time that new and interesting experiments can be conducted to learn mathematics.

Amit Yadav, the students of class -8 of Chhattarpur Excellence Middle School has prepared a periscope himself in the summer camp. Periscope is normally used to measure the heights of things above the level of submarines. Sakshi Patel of class-7 of Sankheda of Hoshangabad described the summer camp as a magical experience. The Director of the Regional Science Center Prabal Roy is finding out about the experiences by interacting with the students constantly.

Director of State Education center lokesh Jatav said that the government schools have been told to conduct new experiments in order to generate interest for maths among the teachers and students. Kits related to maths and science have also been provided in the government schools.
