A youth was forced to kneel down by some students of Utkal University here after he allegedly passed lewd comments at a girl student in the Vani Vihar campus. The incident, which took place on Monday, came to fore after a video of it has gone viral.
The Saheed Nagar police later detained Sushant Sethi, the accused and a resident of Bhoi Nagar here, after the girl lodged a complaint in this regard.
Sushant, while roaming near the ladies’ Hostel-2 of the university, passed obscene comments at the student.
Some fellow students soon reached the spot, nabbed him and later forced him to kneel down and apologise for his misbehaviour. Their punishment for the youth didn’t end there as they forced him to cover the distance from the spot to the police station on his knees.
The complainant girl also alleged that Sushant had been troubling her for quite some time.
