The team of State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs minister Prakash Pant suffered a defeat in Dehradun on Sunday. The occasion was a match played as part of Uttarakhand Corporate T-20 cricket league here on Sunday.
For the first time in Uttarakhand, through WTIT Solutions, the first phase of the Uttarakhand Corporate T-20 Cricket league began on April 22.
A total of 16 teams of Uttarakhand state including Uttarakhand Police, UPCl, SIIDCUl, Shilpa Production, Services XI, Combined Services, Baluni Public School, MDDA, Il & FS, Bar Council, DSWA, NTl Blasters, Prakash Pant XI, PNB Housing, Uttarakhand Gramin Bank, Maccaferri are participating in the T-20 cricket league.
On Sunday at the Tanush stadium, the State finance minister Prakash Pant’s team (Prakash Pant XI) played against Maccaferri team. The cabinet minister lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the match after which he also tossed the coin after winning which his team decided to field first. On this occasion, the cabinet minister greeted all the participants and exhorted the youth to foster the spirit of sportsmanship. Addressing the gathering, Pant appreciated the purpose behind organising this competition. Cricketers from across the state have got an opportunity to display their talent through this corporate T-20 cricket league. Batting first, the Maccaferri team set a target of 122 runs for Pant XI. The Maccaferri team managed to win the match of 10 runs.
On this occasion, former position holder Santosh Kashyap said that there was no dearth of talent in Uttarakhand which needed a conducive scenario. The director of WTIT Om Prakash and others were also among those present on the occasion.
