leader of opposition and senior leader of the Indian National lok Dal, Abhay Singh Chautala on Friday accused the BJP-led Haryana Government of trying to divert public attention from real issues through controversies surrounding cow, Gita and its campaign ‘Swachh Bharat’.
Chautala lashed out at the State Government during the ‘Jail Bharo Andalon’ of INlD-BSP combine at Rohtak, known as the stronghold of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Before courting arrest, alongwith other INlD-BSP leaders and workers in Rohtak during the ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ to demand construction of Sutlej Yamuna link canal, Chautala alleged that the State Government is trying to mislead people and divert their attention from key issues of employment and development.
From the Chief Minister’s controversial remarks on namaz to other issues including cow, Gita and Swachh Bharat campaign, the BJP is busy to vitiate the peaceful environment in the state, he added.
The INlD-BSP had jointly launched ‘Jail Bharo Andalon’ on May 1 in Bhiwani to press for the demand of construction of Sutlej Yamuna link (SYl) canal and raise the issues including implementation of Swaminanthan report, construction of Dadupur Nalvi irrigation project, loan waiver for farmers.
Eyeing political revival after being out of power since 2005, the INlD had in April announced to join hands with the BSP for 2019 crucial polls.
