The much-awaited Konark Festival and International Sand Art Festival would be held at Konark and the Chandrabhaga sea beach, respectively, from December 1 to 5, informed an official release on Thursday.
The country’s traditional and classical dances would be presented on the auditorium each evening from 6 pm to 8:30 pm. Leading exponents and dance enthusiasts of Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Manipuri, Kathak, Kuchipudi and Sattriya would take part.
The eighth edition of the International Sand Art Festival, with Padmashree Awardee SudarshanPattnaik as its brand ambassador and chief curator, will be held on the Chandrabhaga beach from 10 am to 10 pm each day.
The festival would be held on themes of sports, heritage, environment, women empowerment and cultural fairs and festivals.
To make the festivals more colourful, a wonderful crafts mela wold be held near Chandrabhaga. Beautiful sculptures and souvenirs made by the expert craftsmen of the region would be displayed and sold, informed the release.
