K'mal lawyers to go on strike

Members of the Khandhamal Bar Association condemned the highhandedness of police in the matter of barbaric attack on High Court lawyer Debi Prasad Pattnayak in Cuttack and decided to cease court work in pursuance to request letter from the High Court Bar Association, Cuttack.

In a meeting held here, the lawyers resolved against such police atrocities and submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik demanding immediate arrest and suspension of the police personnel involved in crime.

They also demanded compensation to the victim. They threatened that if the police personnel are not arrested within 24 hours, the protest would be intensified.
