Notably in an incident occurred on Tuesday, 10 bogies of a goods train got detached from the engine near Birajapali STI level crossing near Rourkela
The train driver realised the detachment only after observing a sudden increase in the speed of the train and brought the train to a halt. By the time the train stopped, the engine carrying 18 other bogies had already covered two km.
With the help of other railway staff, the bogies were then reattached to the engine. Train services on the track were halted for about 30 minutes due to the incident.
It may be noted that two such incidents had occurred in the State recently.
