Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) (JCC) Jogi (J) has decided to field Tribhuwan Mahilang from Mahasamund Assembly constituency.
Former Municipal Council President of Mahasamund, Mahilang, recently switched over to JCC (J) from Bharatiya Janata Party.
JCC (J) Spokesperson informed that as per a decision of Core Committee , Mahilang would be the official candidate of the party from Mahasamund assembly segment. No doubt with Mahilang in election fray from Mahasamund, an interesting triangular contest would be witnessed there.
Notably, Mahilang is a popular leader in Mahasamund.
Mahilang was active in politics since college life and started his political career as a President of College Students Union, Mahasamund.
He was Corporator and vice-president of Municipal Council. When post of Munic-ipal Council president during previous urban body’s elections was reserved for women, his wife Rashi Tribhuwan Mahilang contested and succeeded in getting victory.
Notably, BJP has fielded former Parliamentary Secretary Poonam Chandrakar while Congress has shown trust in another Kurmi leader Vinod Chandrakar and had declared him the candidate.
