Prof Amal Chakravarty passes away
Prof. Amal Chakravarty, Ex-University Professor of Dept. of Chemistry, Ranchi University passed away in the wee hours here on Sunday. Known for his jovial & friendly nature in Ranchi University circles, Professor Chakravarty was very popular among students. He was running 84 and is survived by two sons, daughter-in-laws and two granddaughters. His spouse, Prof. Geeta Chakravarty left for her heavenly abode in 2011. Born in Bhagalpur, Prof. Chakravarty earned his academic laurels from St. Xaviers, Ranchi; Science College Patna and Patna University respectively. He served Ranchi University for 33 years and many of his students are eminent names as academicians, doctors and civil servants. His keen interest & passion for Journalism was expressed at an early stage of his career as a PTI correspondent where he worked with the likes of RN Jha, Balbir Dutt etc. He was an avid flute player and a vocalist & represented Ranchi University in many forums nationally.
Dr Rai to deliver lecture in UAE
Dr RK Rai, Chairman Seven Palms Hospital and CEO CTPL Asia, has developed a module of health happiness and neurobiology of excellence, which is already been imparted in SKIPA Ranchi and RU ,is leaving to UAE on January 02, 2019 to deliver lecturers in academic institutions as well as interaction with ministry of happiness, UAE benefiting large number of students all over the global and will endeavour to make it as a focus point for upcoming global education and skill conference to be organised in March at Dubai .
Winter Camp concludes at RAVKC
The seven-day long Winter Camp for kids today concluded with much pomp and show at RAV Kinder Castle, Chiraundi. Noted paediatrician Dr Shailesh Chandra, senior journalist Shambhu Nath Chaudhary alongwith other eminent guests graced the occasion, filled with enthusiasm and fun and praised the efforts to inculcate creative skills among children. Kids, who were learning several creative skills with fun during the past seven days, presented several cultural programmes on the occasion. Director Ravi Prakash welcomed the guests and felicitated the winners of several competitions organised on the occasion.
