Insurance employee killed in road mishap
Jagatsinghpur: In a road mishap at Itapada on the Cuttack-Machhagaon NH-55, an insurance company employee was killed when an unknown vehicle hit him from behind on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Samir Nath from Erasama, who was working in SBI Life in Jagatsinghpur branch. He was returning to his village by his bike when the unknown vehicle hit him, killing him at the spot. Police have launched a drive to find out the unknown vehicle.
Biren Mitra remembered on birth anniv
Jagatsinghpur: Late Chief Minister Biren Mitra was remembered in his native village Raghunathpur on his 101st birth anniversary on Tuesday. A function was held being attended by many prominent persons with speakers highlighting the manifold activities of Mitra during his lifetime. Mitra was also remembered in another function held at the SVM College, Jagatsinghpur. State Planning Board Deputy Chairman Bishnu Das attended the meeting as chief guest.
