CSI quiz at MECON
Computer Society of India (CSI) Ranchi Chapter under the leadership of Ashit Prasad, Chairman and Nilesh Sinha, Secretary organized a vibrant Quiz Competition today at the MECON Community Hall where more than 100 school students participated in 47 teams from 16 different schools. Vinayak Niraj and Aishwarya Raj of Bridgeford
School won the Competition with their inimitable Scholastic exuberance followed up closely by DAV Bariatu (Kamal Raj and Amit Anand) and St.Thomas, Dhurwa (Om raj and Suman De). Kajal Das, Executive Director (CET) was the chief guest on this occasion who gave away the Prizes; also present were Sanjiv Kumar, GM(MECON) and S. Mitra, Ex-GM(CET).
Spelling competition at SBPS
An Inter- House Spelling Competition was held at SBPS here on Thursday. The competition was held in two groups, the junior group (grade VI to VIII) and the senior group (grade IX to XII). Each group from each house comprised of 3 students. Various rounds based on the topic food, science and technology, geographical features, musical instruments, movies, sports, history, homophones etc were conducted. AIn junior group (grade VI to VIII), 1st position was bagged by Samveda house. Atharvaveda house secured the 2nd position and Rigveda house stood 3rd followed by Rigveda at 4th position. In senior group (Grade IX to XII), Atharvaveda house secured 1st position. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th position was bagged by Samveda, Yajurveda and Rigveda house respectively.
‘Swaksha Bharat Abhiyan’ at Sai Nath
The ‘Re-Take’ of same of ‘Swaksha Bharat Abhiyan’ Mission was done at at Sai Nath University on Thursday duly inaugurated by Prof. SP Agarwal, Pro-Chancellor, Sai Nath University. Prof. S P Agarwal explained the importance of ‘Swaksha Bharat Abhiyan’ Mission and gave detailed information about it to the faculty members, Students, Administrative Officers and other employees of the University while addressing the day. While throwing light on the ‘Swaksha Bharat Abhiyan’ Mission he advised the students and others to put the practice of cleanliness in a daily routine feature and include their own homes and neighbouring places as part of ‘Swaksha Bharat Abhiyan’ Mission in order to achieve cent percent effect in all round cleanliness habits.
DPS students in national competition
Three students of DPS Ranchi has been selected for National Level Painting Competition organized by the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE). Snehal Raj Singh from Group A, Ved Vatsal from Group B and Adrijaa Sarkar from Group C participated in Zonal Level Painting Competition. Snehal Raj Singh and Ved Vatsal received a cash prize of 2000 rupees and 1500 rupees respectively in Zonal Level Painting Competition. And all the three students got selected for National Level Painting Competition.
Workshop on Mathematics
The two day long Capacity Building Programme on Mathematics organized under the aegis of CBSE Centre of Excellence, Patna for the teachers of secondary level was inaugurated by the Resource Persons Rekha Kumari, Principal, DAV PS Chai Bada, Rubbina Nishat Principal, Sadar Alam Memorial Secondary School, Bihar Sharif, Nalanda, Ashok Kumar Principal DAV Hazaribagh and Shubhra Thakur Principal DPS Hazaribagh on Thursday in DAV Public School, Hazaribag. Ashok Kumar, President, Hazaribagh Sahodaya School Complex-cum- Principal, DAV PS Hazaribagh said that teachers must make the students interested in learning maths as they often find it as a difficult subject but once their interest is created they do it's practice with enthusiasm.
Programme on ‘Tourism in India’
Students of Class III of DPS Ranchi organised a programme on ‘Tourism in India’ on November 29 with the motto of “Exploring India”. Students enacted small skit on tourism in India. They shared valuable information regarding the most attractive tourist places, their languages, folk dances, food habits, their dresses and famous festival celebrated in their traditional way. Students performed marvelous and splendid folk dance of Rajasthan (Ghoomar) and Gujrat ( Dandia) with great joy and zeal.
