The Bhopal Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) hosted a Seminar on the Income Tax at Hotel Atishay.
CA Abhay Chhajed, former Chairman CIRC, was the Chief Guest at the Seminar. CA Manoj Munshi and CA Ashish Goyal from Indore were the Guest speakers who deliberated in detail and enlightened the members about the various topics of Income Tax.
Technical Session one was taken by CA Manoj Munshi “Prosecution under Income Tax and Constitutional Remedies Available in Taxation Matters”. He explained the procedure to tackle the notices of prosecution launched by the income tax department and remedies available to the assesses.
Technical Session two was taken by CA Ashish Goyal on the topic of “Reassessment under section 148 of Income Tax 1961”. CA Goyal has deliberated the topic in a very interesting manner and discussed the fine points of sec 148 Income escaping assessments.
More than 200 members attended the seminar. The Income Tax department had issued thousands of notices in the month of March 2018 to the assesee regarding the financial transactions undertaken by them in the FY 2010-11. In this Seminar, various aspects regarding the validity of such notices and manner to handle such notices were discussed.
The seminar was successfully headed by CA Abhishek Gupta-Chairman of Bhopal Branch of ICAI. On this occasion, CA Mayank Agarwal, Vice Chairman, CA Anshul Agarwal, Secretary, CA Saurabh Shrivastava, Treasurer, CA Anup Shrivastava, CICASA Chairman and the other Managing committee members, CA Navneet Garg, CA Hemant Jain and Zuber Ullah khan were presented in the seminar.
