The Madhya Pradesh Assembly was adjourned for the day on Tuesday after paying rich tributes to the four Army personnel killed in Pakistani shelling along the loC in Rajouri and the former MlAs who died recently
Besides naming the martyred jawans, which included rifleman Ram Awatar who hailed from Gwalior, Speaker Sitasharan Sharma also mentioned about the deaths of former speaker Shriniwas Tiwari and ex-MlAs Suresh Seth, Puran Singh Bedia, Tatulal Ahirwar, Keshar Bai Damar and others.
The Budget session of the State Assembly commenced on Monday. Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya would present the last Budget of the incumbent BJP Government on Wednesday, before the State goes to polls later this year.
During his address, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recited some verses from scriptures to pay tribute to the martyred jawans.
He hailed the former speaker as the most influential leader of the Vindhya region of the state.
leader of Opposition Ajay Singh, Deputy Speaker Rajendra Singh, MlAs Girish Gautam (BJP) and Sheela Tyagi (BSP) also recalled contribution of the departed leaders. The House was adjourned after observing a two-minute silence as a mark of respect.
The Assembly paid obituary to former Speaker Sriniwas Tiwari, who passed away recently. The House also paid tributes to four former members, two former Union ministers and former Assembly secretary. As soon as the proceedings began, Speaker Sitasaran Sharma informed the House of the demise of Tiwari and others.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh, Assembly Deputy Speaker Rajendra Kumar Singh and Bahujan Samaj Party member Sheela Tyagi paid tributes. "Tiwari was a hard-core socialist leader," he added.
