Home Minister Rajnath Singh slams RaGa for his speeches abroad

Wednesday, 31 January 2018 | PNS | Chandigarh

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday lashed out at Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his speeches at international fora.

“It is unfortunate that the Congress president is raising national issues at international fora. It seems that the Congress puts party’s interest before that of country,” said Rajnath Singh while addressing youth conclave at BJP office Kamlam in Sector 33 here.

Continuing his tirade against the Congress chief, the Union Minister said, “False representation of facts in other countries is wrong. We should praise our country.”

Earlier, our nation was seen as weak but India is seen as a stronger nation now, he added.

Notably, Congress president Rahul Gandhi during his USA visit last year and recent Bahrain visit had attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing them of doing divisive politics. Gandhi had also highlighted Modi government’s inability to create jobs in the country.

Ahead of next year’s crucial parliamentary polls, Rajnath Singh asked the youth volunteers to work hard for the party. Referring to 2014 polls victory, he also asked the party workers to show humility and not be arrogant in their ways.

“Our behavior should not be of a ruler,” he added. The Home Minister also called upon youth volunteers to ensure that people trust the party.

He also urged the youth volunteers to help the youth shun drugs and other evils and at the same time abide by the values in all situations of life. The world remembers the people for their values and their services to the society and not because of their wealth or might, said he.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his leadership skills, Rajnath Singh said, for the first time, leaders of 10 countries from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member-states took part in Republic day function.

After 20 years, an Indian leader went to Davos and addressed the World Economic Forum, said he.

Hailing his government’s works, the Home Minister said that in the past three and a half years, we have done major works. Even the public has accepted that only the Bharatiya Janta Party can give good governance to them.

There is no difference between deeds and words of the BJP, said he.

Referring to Gallup International in its annual survey, rating PM Modi among world’s top three leaders, Rajnath Singh said that India has reached new heights at international forum.

He also said that today, India is fastest growing economy with stabilised GDP (gross domestic product) and greater ease of doing business.

The Union Minister also referred to another international survey by Pew Research Centre saying that the world and people of the country feel that this government is the best to govern India.

Public faith in the party has increased and they have recognized that the BJP has an ability to run the government efficiently, added he.

The Home Minister further said, last year, we won all assembly polls except Punjab. NDA or BJP is ruling in 19 states now, said he.

Rajnath Singh also showered praise on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and highlighted the road connectivity project undertaken during his tenure.

Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher, Chandigarh BJP chief Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh BJYM chief Gaurav Goel also spoke on the occasion.  Among others present included Mayor Davesh Moudgil, former Mayor Asha Jaswal, BJP state general secretary Chander Shekhar, BJYM national executive member and Jammu &Kashmir co-incharge, Amit Rana, BJP councilors and party office bearers.
