The State Meteorological Centre gives an alert of heavy rainfall in many parts of the state as well as in the city on Friday and for the next three days till September 3. Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places, especially in the Kumaun region of Uttarakhand like Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar aside from Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pauri in Garhwal region.
In view of the forecast of substantial rainfall activity during the next three/four days, the state Met centre has advised the people to be very cautious, especially those living in the low- lying areas and also to coordinate with the state government authorities closely.

The maximum and minimum temperature recorded of the various towns of the state on Thursday was 31.7 degree Celsius and 24.6 degree Celsius in Dehradun, 31.5 degree Celsius and 26.0 degree Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.5 degree Celsius and 15.1 degree Celsius in Mukteshwar and 23.6 degree Celsius and 18.2 degree Celsius in New Tehri.
