Jharkhand High Court today suspended the Sub-Judge cum Secretary of legal Service Authority, Garhwa, Naim Ansari, in connection with a controversy involving a woman Para legal Volunteer (PlV).
Confirming the action Registrar General of Jharkhand High Court Ambuj Nath said that the sub judge has been suspended and departmental proceeding is pending against him. The judge has been headquartered at Giridih, he added.
The action came in the wake of a lady PlV Chanda Devi alleging that the judge wanted to have relationship with her and was forcing her to go out with him. Devi had filed an affidavit at the Principal District and Session Judge’s office and had accused the Sub Judge for using filthy language and pressurising her to make physical relationship with her.
The PlV said that she had filed a complaint against the sub Judge in Garhwa Police station for lodging FIR. She said the police will take appropriate action on it.
Notably, the Sub Judge had also lodged an FIR against Devi for threatening him and disrupting government work. Garhwa Police filed an FIR swiftly against Chanda Devi under Sections of 189, 353, 387, 504 and 506 of IPC and sent her to jail. The PlV was sent to jail by Garhwa police but was released on bail later.
Garhwa SP Mohammed Arshi informed that after receiving application of Chanda Devi he has sent a request letter to the Principal District and Session Judge for instruction.
