Haryana Transport Minister Krishan lal Panwar on Monday said that special training will be imparted to the drivers and conductors of Haryana roadways so as to improve their conduct.
In a first, around 5000 drivers and 5000 conductors would undergo training to improve their behavior towards passengers, said the Minister while talking to the mediapersons here.
The decision to provide them special training have been taken following the complaints of passengers regarding the rude behavior of drivers and conductors of Haryana roadways.
The Minister also announced that Haryana roadways has planned to hire around 30 new long route buses with a provision of toilets in them.
Stating that there is shortage of buses in the state, the Minister said that the State Government will hire a total of 720 buses under its scheme of hiring of private buses on kilometer basis.
So far. 510 private buses have been hired under this scheme, he added.
When asked about resentment among roadways employees’ unions over the decision of hiring private buses, the Minister denied the allegations of privatization of Haryana roadways.
