The Giridih police arrested one hardcore Maoist of CPI(Maoists) from Pirtard area on Tuesday. Police have also recovered one foreign made pistol and nine cartridges from him. The arrested youth has been identified as Charka Manjhi (40), a resident of Jarha Dewanadih village of Giridih.
Giridih SP S.K.Jha said that the arrested has admitted his involvement in dozen cases related with naxal activities in around Parasnath area,where 5 police personnel were killed in land mine blast.
Giving details of arrested Maoist rebel’s modus operandi, Jha said the former used to call several road construction companies for levy .On Sunday he came to Pirtard forest area for collecting levy from one contractor. Manjhi,was wanted in as many as 11 cases lodged in various police stations of Giridih.
