Former minister in the Akhikesh Yadav cabinet, Gyatri Prasad Prajapati, now in jail after being booked under the POCSO Act for raping a minor, is all set to face further trouble as the lokayukta, Sanjay Mishra, reportedly sent his report for further action in connection with a complaint filed by one Rajneesh of Faizabad.
Though no one in the lokayukta office confirmed of dispatching any report to the Government against Prajapati, but sources confirmed here on Wednesday that in one of the complaint, filed by one Rajneesh, Mishra has send his findings for further action. Rajneesh, in his complaint filed with the lokayukta, had alleged that then minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, after becoming a minister, acquired property worth Rs 300 crore in the name of his family members, friends and associates in lucknow’s Mohanlalganj area and other parts. The properties were said to be purchased in the names of Prajapati sons – Anuraj Prajapati, Anil Prajapati, daughter Ankita Prajapati and other family members.
It may be mentioned that during course of investigation, then lokaayukta, Mehrotra, had summoned several people, accused of having acquired benami properties on behalf of Prajapati, to record their statement. Eight of them claimed that they had bought the properties with their own money. Interestingly, after which some complaints have been closed by Mehrorta citing that they submitted affidavits of having no evidence to the allegations made by them.
