The State Government has so far received more than 2K suggestions from people on budget and the Govt is mulling over them seriously. Those interested to send their views on budget can do it over phone or e mail till the festival of Holi. The CM Trivendra Singh Rawat said this while interacting with farmers, entrepreneurs and research scholars during ‘ Your Opinion Your Budget’ programme at Annexe building of GB Pant university at Pantnagar on Tuesday.
In the programme farmer Gurpal Singh suggested that the report of Swaminathan committee should be implemented while farmer Vinod Kumar Gumbar opined that 80 percent rebate on irrigation tax should be given. Another farmer Raghvendra Singh demanded subsidy to sugarcane farmers on installation of drip irrigation system and said that the power transmission lines passing through the farms should be upgraded.
Farmer Tara Singh Koranga said scientists should be sent to selected areas to explain scientific farming practices.
Jagjit Singh suggested that every Nyaya Panchayat should have drier machine for drying paddy.
In the dialogue with the entrepreneurs, Suresh Kumar suggested waiver of state duty on power supply to the industries while Ramesh Minda called for abolition of Mandi tax and extension of Pantnagar airport. Research Scholars Rupa and Manish Pant demanded increase in scholarships for the students of M.Sc.
Addressing the gathering, the CM said that the State Govt is establishing dialogue with every section of the society so that their valuable suggestions can get inculcated in the State budget.
