Gandhi was a complete man: Prof Ambastha

Wednesday, 31 January 2018 | RR Srivastava | Hazaribagh

The Vinoba Bhave University family remembered father of the nation MK Gandhi on January 30, the day of his martyrdom.

A special programme was organised in the recently created Gandhi-Vinoba-Jayprakash thought center in which the officials, teachers and students of the university were present. “Gandhi was a complete man. He never asked anything in return from the nation after doing a lot for it. He took the bullet in his chest just to unite and make the country free.

He gave his life to the society without any hope of getting a gift in return,” Ambastha added. He also said that whenever there has been any revolt in any country the leader always became the head of that country but Gandhi who led the freedom movement kept himself away from power. He also talked about the characteristics of Gandhi like non-violence, tolerance, sense of collective belonging, his approach towards the lower caste people, nature, love towards the country etc.

He compared Gandhi with lord Buddha and Jesus Christ and said that he has given a new site of hope for the humanity in this nation.

In his presidential address Pro VC of Vinoba Bhave University Dr Kunul Kandir said, “Reason for violence in our country is disobeying Gandhi and his thoughts.” Registrar Dr. Bansidhar Rukhaiyar said that no words are sufficient to introduce such a great human.

His thinking was always of truth and he has tried to take all the good habits from the nature and society in him and succeeded in doing that.

Dean BP Singh said that his thoughts are itself a clue for better life and thoughts of Gandhi will never end.

The program began with lightning of lamp and garlanding on the picture of Father of the Nation.

Jhony Rufina Tirki anchored the program while Dr. Margret lakra gave vote of thanks. In this program teachers and officials of university along with the students were present.
