Fusion of Indian cultures takes shape at Lok Manthan

From Kerala to Jammu & Kashmir and from Gujarat to Manipur intellectuals, artists, former judicial officers, social workers, farmers and students from across the country are deliberating on how to encourage Indian values among people during the four day ‘Lok Manthan’ which is underway at Khel Gaon in Ranchi.

Speaking to mediapersons J Nand Kumar, national general secretary of Pragya Parishad informed that 1079 delegates from various parts of the country including 150 from Jharkhand are participating in the programme. As many as 59 delegates are from Kerala.

“We have witnessed an amalgamation of culture, literature, sculptor and social practices at the event so far,” he said.

He added that while the festival of Karma, which is a popular festival of Jharkhand was shown in the morning another festival related to nature called Taiyyam, which is observed in Kerala, was staged later in the day on Saturday.

Nand Kumar stated we have to know India about to become Indian. He added that any transformation could be achieved only when the masses are ready for it adding the Lok Manthan is aimed at bringing society based changes.

The deliberations of the participants would be complied and published which would come to the notice of the government for further action.

It may be mentioned here that Bharat Darshan, a platform showing the glorious history of India, the modern India, tradition of Jharkhand and also the solution to the several problems including conservation of water and energy, is also drawing a large crowd.
