Foreign elements behind Patthalgari: BJP

Saturday, 30 June 2018 | PNS | Ranchi

The day when the guards abducted from MP Karia Munda’s residence at Khunti were freed after three-days of captivity on Friday, the State BJP hinted at some foreign hands behind the Patthalgari supporters and their activities in the area and traded charges with the JVM on the issue.

Spokespersons of the party Deendayal Barnwal and Pratul Shahadeo in a press conference charged indirectly the Christian missionaries for entire disturbance engineered out of their vested interest.

“Patthalgari is just an excuse. There are foreign forces who want to utilise it for opium cultivation by misguiding innocent and simple tribals. It is unfortunate that parties in Opposition like JMM, Congress and JVM have supported them in the act of treason. But now days of such anti-national forces are limited and the Government would not rest until such foreign elements are chased out of here,” said Barnwal.

Coming to the roles of the Opposition parties he rapped them for not once condemning the abducting of police personnel and blamed them for adding fuel to the fire. “They are supporting anti-national and anti-Constitutional forces who have done such a heinous crime like abduction of the policemen. These parties should refrain from such type of politics,” said the spokesperson. Sahadeo on the occasion congratulated the police for making the personnel free from the captivity of the Patthalgari supports.

JVM, on the other hand, blamed the Government for snapping all means of communication with the Patthalgari supporters and villagers living in the disturbed area and allowing things to go out of control.

“Our party does not have any sympathy for those who are acting against the Constitutions and who do not have faith in the law of the land. But we are also against those who out of their vested interest are putting the State in flames in the name of religion like we saw in Ranchi couple of days ago. At Khunti, the entire Government machinery has failed in establishing the chain of communication with the villagers. They did not try to settle their anger and dissatisfaction with dialogue but tried to suppress with the help of gun. Anger and dissatisfaction caused due to series of decisions made related to land which grew with time,” said JVM principal general secretary and legislator Pradeep Yadav.
