Fuelled with an old enmity a 52-year-old man was attacked with sharp-edged weapons by five miscreants at Putlighar square under Teelajamalpura police station area on Wednesday.
According to the police, a man was rushed to a nearby hospital after he was attacked by were attacked by a group of miscreants in the afternoon near Putlighar square.In the initial investigation the victim was identified as Maqsud Hasan while the assailants were identified as Shawar and Aman, Salman, Faiz, Siknadar.
The victim is a resident of Kabeetpura. The police have registered a case under section 294, 332, 307and 34 of the IPC and section 25 of Arms Act and have started search for the accused.
In his complaint the victim told the police that he was attacked by Shawar along with his aides near a shop and started abusing him and when he opposed Shawar and his accomplices they attacked with sharp edged weapons and escaped the spot.The victim tried to escape but failed and no one came to his rescue.
He sustained serious injuries in his left hand fingers and was rushed to Hamidia hospital where his condition is reportedly stable.
Police said that the victim and accused hold crime record and have been engaged in fights which turned violent injuring men from the two groups.
