With the upsurge of technological innovations and various skill development programmes, there is a host of opportunities for the Divyangjans to enhance their skills and nurture their talents, thereby becoming more competent and self-sufficient in life. Nalco, as a responsible corporate citizen, takes pride in joining hands with reputed national-level organisations in this endeavour,” said Nalco CMD Dr TK Chand during the inauguration of a CAD/Cam Laboratory and laying of the foundation-stone for a Vocational Training Centre at the Swami Vivekananda National Institute of Rehabilitation Training & Research (SVNIRTAR) at Olatpur on Saturday.
It may be mentioned that the 7-axis robotics machine with in-built CAD/CAM software for manufacturing of sockets at the SVNIRTAR is first of its kind in the country being installed by the Nalco Foundation. This Rs 2.73-crore project would enable the SVNIRTAR in producing the orthoses and prosthetic sockets in a more efficient manner within less time.
Government of India’s Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) Secretary Shakuntala D Gamlin praised the Nalco’s CSR initiatives.
