The Vigilance Special Judge, Bhubaneswar awarded two years of rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 1 lakh on former OAS officer Prafulla Kumar Routray after convicting in a disproportionate assets case on Monday.
In case of default in fine payment, Routray would undergo six months RI concurrently.
A case of possession of disproportionate assets had been filed against Routray while he was Transport Department Joint Secretary in 1998.
His and his relatives’ residential house had been searched on January 6 and 8, 1998. During investigation, a charge-sheet was submitted against Routray for possession of disproportionate assets amounting to Rs 10,35,370.
