Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh instructed the officials concerned to ensure that debris from road construction works are dumped scientifically at the designating dumping sites.
The chief secretary issued this and other instructions while chairing a video conference on the Char Dham road project with the district magistrates concerned.
Chairing the meeting, he instructed the National Highways, chief engineer (Garhwal), Hari Om Sharma and Public Works Department under secretary Dinesh Punetha to jointly inspect the problems associated with road construction in Chamoli district. He also directed that work be expedited on the 28 projects associated with Char Dham road project.
Additional chief secretary Om Prakash, Forest and Environment secretary Arvind Singh Hyanki, Rudraprayag DM Mangesh Ghildiyal, Tehri DM Sonika, Uttarkashi DM Ashish Chauhan, Chamoli ADM Mohan Singh Barnia and officials of various departments concerned were also among those who attended the meeting.
