Renowned ophthalmologist of Jharkhand Dr Bharti Kashyap presented as many as three scientific papers during the annual conference organized by American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) organized in Washington DC. The Conference was held from April 13 to April 17 that witnessed the participation of eminent eye surgeons from across the globe.
Dr Kashyap presented her finding and intensive research work (scientific papers) in the presence of renowned femto laser cataract surgeon. Dr Kashyap is the only surgeon from Jharkhand to participate in this prestigious conference. Dr. Kashyap’s all the three scientific papers were based on the femto laser technique, its usage and how it is benefitting the patients.
The conference gave the surgeons opportunity to exchange ideas about the latest femto laser cataract surgery which is considered to be much safer than the regular Feko eye treatment. “In comparison to Feko eye treatment, femto laser technique is better in every perspective. A person gets her/her vision (eye sight) back in minimum time through femto technique,” said Dr. Kashyap. Different technological aspects were also raised during the conference.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kashyap was felicitated by ASCRS for her contribution and incredible role in creating awareness among the rural and tribal population of Jharkhand about cervical cancer, organizing camps for treating patients in naxal affected belts. Notably, Dr. Kashyap had recently received ‘Nari Shakti Samman’ from President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
