Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi would make a review of the status report and the action-taken report on allotments of Government houses and lands under the Discretionary Quota (DQ).
The review would be undertaken on the basis of the recommendations made by the Task Force on multiple allotments of houses and plots by various Government agencies under the DQ, official sources said.
The Department of General Administration (GA), in separate letters to the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and the Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB), has asked for status reports and action-taken reports at the earliest.
Stating this, GA Department Secretary Ashok Kumar Meena has expressed displeasure over non-response by the Development Authorities on the issue.
The Task Force headed by the then Revenue Secretary Taradatt had made recommendations to bring back the properties allotted under the DQ.
A total of 1,791 allotments were made by the different Development Authorities between 1995 and 2011 through DQ, according to official sources. These included allotments made by BDA (803), CDA (921) and OSHB (67). And 54 persons were allotted multiple properties.
"The Development Authorities have been able to bring back only four properties from 54 allotments in last four years," sources said.
