Dowry death: Accused found dead on track

Huge ruckus was created after a 27-year-old man was found dead near railway tracks in Itarsi who was taken by Ashoka Garden policemen for producing him at Khandwa court in a dowry case on June 27.

The court has ordered to execute warrant and produced the accused by Ashoka Garden police issued against Nitin Shrivastava in a dowry case.

SP Bhopal South Rahul Kumar lodha said that the court granted bail to Nitin Shrivastava after which he was on his own and policemen served duty without fail later he was found buried is matter of investigation but it could not be accepted that the role of policemen was suspicious in the whole episode.

The deceased identified as Nitin Shrivastava was found dead and a case was registered by RPF Itarsi. The Ashoka Garden police took Nitin to Khandwa for producing him at the district court in dowry case.

The body was recovered by RPF Itarsi and after post mortem the body was buried as they do not facility to preserve body and later the body was handed over to the family member they staged protest by keeping body at the Ashoka Garden police station premises in the evening on Friday.

The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.

Police said that Nitin’s brother accompanied him and while they were returning Nitin went missing near Itarsi and later when he reached Bhopal he informed Ashoka Garden police regarding the missing and also enquired with Bhopal GRP on Thursday.
