District Board lady member raises road issues before CM

Friday, 30 November 2018 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

BJP leader and member of Palamu Zila Parishad Lovely Gupta has raised the issue of two roads falling under Panki block from where she represents the district board.

Lovely Gupta said, “The two roads are at panki and Loharssi.  They are in bad condition. A five kilometer stretch of this road comes on the land of irrigation department and that has with held the work on this road.”

She further said there is another road between Panki and Nooru. It is also in dire need of strengthening.

Lovely Gupta on Wednesday met Chief Minister Raghubar Das and apprised him of the conditions of the rural connectivity in Panki.

Sources said it is male’s voice in Palamu zila parishad which is heard more while the lady members too are no less vocal on public issues.

The issue of these two roads remained off sight of veterans of Panki politics like the sitting Congress MLA Devender Singh alias Bittu Singh or his bête noire who remain at loggerheads over things which centre around their individual politics thus public issues of Panki get a back seat.

Lovely Gupta said, “As a member of zila parishad I owe to my people. I raise issues but seniors sitting atop hardly find time to redress those issues.”

Gupta said she would now focus on Aagawadi kendras, health care, farmers’ issues, skill development among women at times like this when Palamu reels under drought.

She said “There was held a camp recently in the premise of the sadar block Daltonganj for issuance of certificate of disability where I found more chairs than the needy around and when I charged the block officials that publicity of this camp was not done adequately everyone there started making faces.”

She said, “I am a BJP worker and I will see that government’s welfare schemes reach the poor and the needy.”
