As part of the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH), a State-level SC-ST conclave-cum-exhibition and inauguration of NSIC-IMDC building were organised at the Mancheswar Industrial Estate here on Thursday.
Union Petroleum and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, Union MSME Minister Giriraj Singh and officers of the Union and State Government were present.
The purpose of the conclave was to create awareness of schemes under NSSH like special marketing assistance scheme and single point registrations scheme and other schemes like MUDRA, Stand-up India, CGTMSE. It also aimed to share information on products/services that could be procured from SC/ST MSEs.
Inaugurating the Dharmapada Bhavan, Pradahn said the Bhavan would help SC and ST youths to become entrepreneurs and they will not go outside in search of job.
He stated that 40% of Odisha’s population belongs to SC and ST categories and 85% of the population are facing employment problems.
“The Union Government is creating employments through MUDRA and stand-ups. However, the State Government is creating problems in certain cases,” said Pradhan.
He said as many as 33 lakh families have been provided lPG gas connections of which 52 per cent belong to the SC and ST categories.
