The formidable alliance of the Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) and the BSP has picked up a seasoned politician and party MLA Dharamjeet Singh to lead the alliance in the State Assembly which begins on January 4.
The alliance which bagged seven seats in the 90-member house, picked up Lormi assembly legislator Dharamjeet Singh as its Leader of Legislative Party while Kota MLA Renu Jogi will be the Deputy Leader of Legislative Party.
Both the leaders have won the assembly polls on JCC (J) tickets. Dharamjeet is senior leader and active in state politics for decades. He is fourth-time MLA and had also served the Chhattisgarh state assembly as Deputy Speaker during Ajit Jogi-led Congress regime, 2000-2003.
The wheelchair-bound Ajit Jogi had stitched alliance with the BSP just head of the assembly polls in November and put up an impressive show. The alliance has also announced to contest all eleven Lok Sabha seats in the state next year.
