The Vigilance police on Saturday caught Deogarh Minor Irrigation Division Executive Engineer (EE) Rabindra Kumar Mehto red-handed for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 21,000.
He was caught taking bribe from complainant Dilip Kumar Padhi of Purunagarh in Deogarh district for release of final payment of around Rs 10, 50,000. The complainant is a “B’ Class Civil Contractor who has completed construction of residential building at Minor Irrigation Colony, Deogarh.
Mehto residential Government quarter at MI Colony, Deogarh was searched. He was arrested and forwarded to court.
