CP website on traffic awareness launched

Tuesday, 31 July 2018 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

The Commissionerate police (CP) on Monday launched a website to sensitise the people on road safety issues. Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania inaugurated the website.

Khurania said the website www.bhubaneswarcuttacktrafficpolice.in contains detailed information on traffic offences, symbols, driving licenses and provisions of Motor Vehicles Act.

“I am sure the citizens of twin city would find the web portal very helpful and informative.”

The website also contains information related to accidents and first aids, road safety and different enforcement gadgets besides modernisation plans of the traffic police.

A special section on “Safe and Responsible Driving” in the portal provides a checklist before getting ready to drive and ways to fight traffic pollution on roads and highways.

Of late, the traffic wing of the Commissionerate police is laying stress on spreading road safety awareness, introduction of latest technologies and ensuring enforcement of traffic rules.

While the introduction of body-worn camera by the traffic cops has made the everyday functioning more transparent, vehicle-interceptors and use of speed radar guns on the highways are expected to prevent speeding and loss of life and property.
