Cops remove visually-impaired protesters from dharna site

The police on Tuesday forcibly removed the agitating visually impaired from their dharna site, Neelam Park. Besides, nine of them were arrested after they tried to reach CM House.

The protesters with 23 point demands in which hostel facilities, education and employment were main demands are staging protest from December 18. According to the protestors Indore bench of High Court has instructed to clear backlog for visually-impaired within six months and the decision came in the year 2013 but it was never implemented by government. They also demanded fair appointment and increase number of seats for differently abled persons.

After failing to get their demands heard and accepted, protest by protestors turned violent.

Addl SP Zone 1 Dharmveer Singh Yadav said that nine protestors have been arrested when the protestors vandalized vehicles after they were obstructed on their way to CM house on Tuesday. The protestors tried to move towards CM house by breaking the barricades and vanadalised vehicles at the spot. The protestors tried to carry out a rally without procuring permission. Use of force was made to disperse and detention of the protestors was done.

Drishtiheen Rozgar Samiti’s head Manish Sikarwar is determined for carrying peaceful protest until government accedes to the demands.

He claimed that police have held them captive at the park for hours and have opted different tactics to end their protest but they prevailed and during the protest different organizations have come to support in their protest.
